Meet Anna

For Anna Karpiak, bringing people together has always been at the heart of what she does. As she begins this exciting new chapter as a wedding officiant, Anna brings with her years of experience creating meaningful events, building community, and supporting people through important moments in their lives.
Although Anna is new to officiating, she is certainly not new to weddings or event coordination. She successfully planned and coordinated her own wedding for 300 guests, giving her firsthand insight into everything that goes into creating a celebration that is both meaningful and memorable.
Her event experience extends well beyond her own wedding. While studying at Old Dominion University in the United States, Anna was an active member of the Foreigners student organization, where she helped organize numerous social events and social-awareness initiatives, including a university homecoming ball.
Anna later served as an Event Coordinator with the United Nations Development Programme in Ukraine, where she coordinated more than 60 social-cohesion events. She has also been actively involved with Ukrainian community organizations, including the League of Ukrainian Canadian Women and the Ukrainian Youth Association. Through these organizations, she has helped organize large-scale zabavas and community events featuring live bands, performances, photo booths, auctions, food, and hundreds of guests.
These experiences have taught Anna how to bring people together, manage countless details behind the scenes, and create an atmosphere where everyone feels welcome and included.
In her professional career as a school social worker, Anna brings an especially compassionate and people-centred approach to her work. She is empathetic, open-minded, non-judgmental, and genuinely invested in making people feel heard and valued. Those qualities translate beautifully into her role as an officiant.
Anna believes that your wedding ceremony should feel comfortable, authentic, and meaningful. She takes the time to listen to each couple, understand what matters to them, and create an experience that reflects their relationship and the significance of the moment.
Anna speaks English and Ukrainian and is currently focused on officiating single-day weddings, primarily during the summer months of July and August, while also being available for select ceremonies throughout the year.
Outside of work and weddings, Anna enjoys Ukrainian dance, hiking, camping, and jogging. She is a wife and mother who appreciates the importance of family, community, and celebrating life's special moments together.
For Anna, becoming a wedding officiant is a natural extension of what she has always loved doing—bringing people together and helping create moments they will remember for years to come.
Your love deserves to be celebrated with warmth, intention, and heart—and Anna would be honoured to help you begin this next chapter.

“Cory officiated my wedding last week, and was great. We were extremely pleased with his deportment and professionalism. He arrived well before us, was quick to put us at ease with a few last minute words of encouragement. He was quick to understand what kind of ceremony we were looking for and delivered exactly what we wanted.

“Cory’s services made our wedding very personalized. We worked together to realize what we really what and those elements reflect on who we are. I strongly recommend other people to do the same to make sure such an important occasion is accomplished the right way. Thumbs up for Cory’s efforts, time, and humour to help us achieve this.”
