Meet Samuel
Samuel and Virginie bring a unique blend of adventure, authenticity, and heartfelt connection to every ceremony they officiate. As an internationally experienced married couple, they have spent the last 14 years capturing love stories around the world as wedding and elopement photographers, documenting more than 220 weddings and intimate celebrations across destinations including Moorea, Tahiti, Bora Bora, Vancouver Island, mainland British Columbia, and Alberta.
Their journey together has also taken them to live in France, New Zealand, Africa, Europe, Oceania, and the Americas, experiences that shaped their open-minded approach to love, culture, and meaningful human connection. Fluent in both French and English, Samuel and Virginie create ceremonies that feel warm, inclusive, deeply personal, and genuinely reflective of each couple’s story.
In addition to their extensive photography background, they have planned and photographed more than 35 weddings and elopements through their award-winning studio, SV Photograph. As entrepreneurs and co-owners of both SV Photograph and Speak French Now, a one-to-one language school, they are passionate about communication, creativity, and helping people feel comfortable being themselves.
Their decision to become officiants came naturally after years spent standing alongside couples during life’s most emotional and unforgettable moments. As photographers, they often witnessed couples dreaming of exchanging vows in breathtaking remote locations, only to struggle finding someone willing to officiate there. Samuel and Virginie wanted to change that. Their adventurous spirit, combined with their dedication to creating meaningful experiences, means they are ready to follow couples wherever their hearts lead.
Known for their warmth, professionalism, humour, and unmistakable French charm, Samuel and Virginie believe weddings should feel joyful, authentic, and deeply human. They are straightforward, easygoing, and genuinely invested in the people they work with. To them, couples are never simply clients — they become friends and part of a shared journey.
Outside of weddings, Samuel and Virginie love hiking, photography, meaningful conversations, and immersing themselves in new cultures and traditions. Passionate lifelong learners, they find beauty in both grand adventures and simple moments. They also share a love for cooking, good food, and celebrating life fully — even if that occasionally means eating a little too much.
