Meet Karina
With more than 10 years of experience as an MC, over 15 years as a singer, and years of experience organizing and planning weddings and events, Karina Mahda brings a wealth of experience, energy, and heart to every celebration she is part of.
Originally from Ukraine, Karina has been involved in weddings and special events for many years, hosting and emceeing approximately 15 weddings before bringing her experience to Canada. Since arriving, she has continued building her experience as a wedding officiant, helping couples create ceremonies that feel personal, meaningful, and true to who they are.
Karina's background as an experienced event manager means she understands that a successful wedding is about more than what happens during the ceremony. She knows how to plan a program, anticipate what needs to happen next, and help ensure that all the little details come together to create a smooth and memorable day.
But what truly sets Karina apart is her ability to read the room. As an empathetic and intuitive person, she naturally picks up on people's emotions and energy and can adjust her approach to suit the couple and the atmosphere they want to create. Whether you're dreaming of an elegant celebration filled with energy and excitement or an intimate ceremony focused entirely on the two of you, Karina is ready to make it your own.
Her experience as a professional singer also brings a special dimension to her ceremonies. She understands the power of music, emotion, timing, and storytelling—and how those elements can come together to create moments that stay with you long after the wedding day is over.
Karina is fluent in English, Ukrainian, and Russian and is happy to travel to help couples celebrate their love wherever their wedding day takes them.
Outside of weddings and events, Karina loves to sing, read non-fiction, and escape into the wild beauty of nature. She is a wife, a mother, and a proud pet owner who understands that some of life's most meaningful moments are the ones shared with the people we love.
For Karina, officiating a wedding is a privilege. She loves witnessing two people choose each other and watching two loving hearts come together and begin beating in the same rhythm.
