Meet Lloyd
With nearly five years of experience officiating weddings in both Ontario and Alberta—and more than 60 ceremonies to his credit—Lloyd Fischer brings a unique combination of professionalism, energy, and genuine connection to every wedding he officiates.
Lloyd believes your ceremony should be about you, not a one-size-fits-all script. He takes the time to get to know each couple, hear their story, understand what matters most to them, and create a ceremony that feels authentic to who they are. Whether your vision is heartfelt and intimate, fun and lighthearted, or somewhere beautifully in between, Lloyd knows how to bring the right energy to the moment.
His experience extends well beyond officiating. Lloyd has served as an Emcee for weddings, special events, community gatherings, and corporate functions, and he has a background in event planning. He is also the Co-Founder of Shared Beginning, a comprehensive wedding planning platform designed to help couples create meaningful and personalized celebrations. These experiences have given Lloyd a unique perspective on weddings—from the early planning stages through to the moment everything comes together.
Before entering the wedding industry, Lloyd spent years working in radio and television, developing exceptional communication, public speaking, and audience engagement skills. From interviewing guests and hosting live programming to emceeing events for audiences of all sizes, Lloyd is comfortable in front of a crowd and knows how to think on his feet. Most importantly, he knows how to make people feel comfortable and included.
Lloyd is also highly flexible when it comes to availability and travel. Having previously officiated three to four weddings during a typical Friday-to-Sunday weekend, along with weekday ceremonies, he understands the importance of accommodating couples' schedules. He is available for weddings throughout Alberta, including Edmonton, Red Deer, Calgary, Grande Prairie, Fairview, Peace River, Grimshaw, and surrounding areas.
Outside of weddings, Lloyd is an avid traveller, passionate hockey fan (Go Oilers!), live music and concert enthusiast, and self-proclaimed foodie. He loves discovering new restaurants, exploring local gems, and experiencing new places—whether that's across Alberta or somewhere much farther away.
For Lloyd, being an officiant is about more than simply delivering the ceremony. It's about creating a moment that feels genuine, memorable, and completely yours.
